Here are some toothbrush useful facts on how to brush, how often to change your toothbrush and how hard to brush:
- You need to change your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months or if you had a bad cold.
- After 3 to 4 months even though your toothbrush looks like new, the tip of the bristles is damaged and it’s not doing a good job anymore.
- If your toothbrush opens up “like a flower” after a few months then it means you are TOO AGGRESSIVE! Therefore you are probably pressing on it too hard and you will end up damaging your gums and the enamel of your teeth.
- The majority of the population needs a SOFT, SMALL HEAD toothbrush. Furthermore, very rarely would you need an extra soft brush and never a hard one!!
TIP: If you find that your brush is too hard, hold it under running hot water for a little while before brushing and this should temporarily soften it.
